Service to Seniors
The Bellevue Exchange Club of Bellevue supports our senior community through various programs.
TRANSPORTATION:
The Exchange Club of Bellevue was instrumental in purchasing a van for the Fifty Forward J.L.Turner Center our senior support center in Bellevue. Because of our senior population and the availability of the van to transport seniors, the Greater Nashville Council on Aging chose Bellevue to be a lead community in developing a senior transportation plan. This led to the Fifty Forward/J.L. Turner Center to receiving a grant to extend transportation services. This van is now not only used to transport seniors to and from the center but also is providing seniors access to grocery stores and pharmacies.

WEATHER RADIOS:
In addition, the Exchange Club of Bellevue has purchased and distributed weather radios to seniors annually. Nancy VanCamp, Channel 4 News Meteorologist, kicks off the "weather radio campaign" at one of our weekly meetings.
SENIOR CENTERS: Fifty Forward J.L.Turner Center
The FiftyForward J. L. Turner Center, in partnership with the Bellevue Family YMCA, provides members with opportunities for a healthy lifestyle while encouraging social and community involvement. Through partnering with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, Senior Citizens, Inc. (now FiftyForward) has been able to offer individual and group experiences in a fitness/wellness center environment. This new facility opened in September 2006, the first of its kind in the nation to house a senior center and a Y in partnership. All Bellevue Y members age 50 and over are automatically members of the Turner Center.
Gordon Jewish Community Center of Nashville The Gordon Jewish Community Center is at the center of Jewish life in Nashville, providing recreational, educational, social and cultural programs and services to over 1,700 member families. It is a place where non-Jews are welcome to join, play and learn side by side with their Jewish neighbors. Its purpose has changed little in its one hundred years: to enrich lives and strengthen the community.
