Donald W. Johnson Memorial Garden

Don and Kay’s lifetime commitment and contributions to public education and the beautification of Bellevue attest to their passion for their community.
Donald was a contractor by profession but he built more than just homes; he built communities. Many of the more successful community initiatives, such as the “Welcome to Bellevue” beautification project, the Community Announcement signage, and the future expansion of the Bellevue Exchange Club’s athletic fields and accompanying Metro Greenways system would not have been possible without Don’s direct involvement. He served as the Chairman of the Beautification Committee for which he was later recognized as Bellevue’s Citizen of the Year.
As a long-standing member of both the Bellevue Exchange Club and Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Don was passionate about the town he called home.
In tribute to Don’s contributions to Bellevue, the Bellevue Exchange Club Foundation with contributions and support from the community created the Donald Wayne Johnson Memorial Garden in front of the newly-renovated Harpeth Valley Elementary School. Our thanks to Bellevue Exchange Club members, the Harpeth Elementary School Staff, community sponsors, and community volunteers for creating this beautiful tribute to Don Johnson.
